Task-Based Navigation

Public-service website design
The Royal Gibraltar Post Office archive shows a service-oriented website arranged around common visitor tasks. Postal identity and imagery provide context, while practical tools and information take priority in the page structure.

Postage calculator, track and trace, customer services, customs and post-office-box information are presented as recognisable tiles. This task-based layout gives users a route based on what they need to do, rather than requiring knowledge of the organisation’s structure.

Repeated panels make different services easier to scan.
The postal branding and imagery frame the practical content.
Public-service websites should make frequent tasks easy to find and support users who arrive with a specific question. A new brief should establish service ownership, accessible content, current instructions and how each tool connects to the underlying service.
